Welcome to DramaDrop 👀
DramaDrop started with a group chat that got a little out of hand.
Back in 2021, three friends – Jenna Marlowe, Chris Ibarra, and Priya Ostrander – were stuck in the same never-ending group thread, sending each other screenshots of celebrity feuds, reality TV blowups, and internet beef that seemed to escalate by the hour. Somewhere between a reality-show reunion special and a viral influencer callout, someone joked: “We should just make a website out of this.”
So they did.
What began as a side project between a copywriter (Jenna), a former entertainment blog intern (Chris), and a self-described “professional lurker” (Priya) turned into DramaDrop – a place where the internet’s messiest, funniest, and most talked-about moments get the recap treatment they deserve.
Our Story
DramaDrop launched in a one-bedroom apartment with a secondhand laptop, way too much coffee, and a shared Google Doc titled “drama_ideas_FINAL_v3.” The first few posts were rough – more enthusiasm than editing – but readers showed up anyway, because DramaDrop wasn’t trying to be a tabloid. It was trying to be the group chat, just organized.
Word spread fast. What started as a hobby site read by maybe a few hundred people a month grew into a daily stop for readers who wanted their drama served with context, timelines, and a little bit of humor without the clickbait headlines that say nothing and the fifteen-ad-pop-up nightmare that ruins the fun.
Today, DramaDrop is run by a small, scrappy team spread across the U.S., united by one mission: keep it juicy, keep it accurate, keep it fun.
Meet the Team
Jenna Marlowe – Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief The one who insists every story needs a timeline graphic. Jenna keeps the site’s tone sharp, funny, and (mostly) fair to everyone involved.
Chris Ibarra – Co-Founder & Head of Content Former entertainment blog intern turned drama historian. If it happened online in the last decade, Chris probably has a screenshot of it saved somewhere.
Priya Ostrander – Co-Founder & Community Lead The “professional lurker” who turned scrolling into a full-time job. Priya runs DramaDrop’s reader polls, comment sections, and social pages.
Marcus Feldon – Senior Writer Joined in year two after DMing the team one too many “hot takes.” Now writes DramaDrop’s weekly recap column.
Ava Sonnenberg – Fact-Check & Research The reason DramaDrop stories hold up. Ava chases down sources, screenshots, and receipts before anything goes live.
What We Cover
- Celebrity and influencer drama
- Reality TV blowups and reunion recaps
- Viral internet feuds and callouts
- Pop culture beef, breakdowns, and comebacks
- Our Promise
We know “drama” gets a bad reputation – but we think there’s a difference between mean-spirited gossip and genuinely entertaining storytelling. At DramaDrop, we aim for the second one: stories that are fun to read, backed by real sources, and written by people who actually enjoy this stuff (probably too much).
Thanks for dropping by. Grab your popcorn – there’s always something happening.
